Dr. Joseph`Duro Olaye

Born: February 21, 1955 | Died: September 24, 2015 | Aged: 76

Dr. Joseph`Duro Olaye was born in Ifon, Ondo State on the 21st February 1955, he was a Medical Doctor who set up his own hospital in Lags on the 31st January 2015. Dr Duro was an active member of the Gospel Church of C&S Orile Iganmu, a devoted servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, he wrote two books- “The Righteousness of God and Teaching as doctrine, the commandments of men. He was a good preacher with vast and sound knowledge of the bible. He helped a lot of people as a doctor and he was more than just a doctor to most of his patients. He had a good humour and was loved by many.

Survived by Wife, 3 children, brothers and sisters, Dr. Joseph Olaye passed on the 24th September 2015 at 2:34pm after a brief illness.

Emmanuel Adeniyi Oke

Born: March 4, 1933 | Died: October 5, 2015 | Aged: 82

Surveyor Emmanuel Adeniyi Oke was born on March 4th 1933 to the family of late Mr and Mrs Shittu Oke in Sagamu, Ogun state. He was a very hard working man and a great disciplinarian. When it came to the issue of bringing up his children, he was not someone who would spare the rod at the expense of acts of indiscipline. To the glory of God, his efforts were not in vain and its effects can be seen in the lives of all his children who are responsible parents today.

He died on the 5th of October 2015 as a believer and worshipped at the Redeemed Christian of God, Life Gate Assembly.

Engr Gabriel Mobolaji Ajayi

Born: September 1943 | Died: December, 2015 | Age 72

Engr Gabriel Mobolaji Ajayi was born in Ikare, Akoko Ondo State in September 1943, he was an active member of both his home parish and the parishes of thr Anglican Communion wherever he lived.

Notably and for various periods, he was a member of Egbe Odo Kristi, St Thomas Anglican Church, Ikare, member of Christ Morning star of Nigeria, etc. He was a generous giver to noble causes and never got tired of such giving. He was always able to identify the needs of others and ina hurry to help them meet such needs. He sowed the seed of love, peace, and unity wherever he was. He had shunned corruption and imbibed the spirit of contentment in all his life.

He was survived by his wife, four wonderful children, several grandchildren, brothers and sisters.

Barr. Benjamin Abolade Okegbenro

Born: December 23, 1933 | Died: November 21, 2015 | Aged: 81

Barr. Benjamin Abolade Okegbenro was born in Ijaiye, now Abeokuta South Local Government of Ogun State on the 23rd of December 1933. In 1958, he left Nigeria for the United Kingdom where he passed his A levels in British Constitution, History and Economics from 1959 to 1960. He established the law firm of Bola Okegbenro and company and there he continued a vibrant practice until the very day before his peaceful demise in the morning of 21st November 2015.

He is survived by wife and children.

Chief Anthony Abiola Johnson

Born: April 20, 1947 | Died: November 20, 2015 | Aged: 81

Chief Anthony Abiola Johnson, the Apesin of Lagos state was born in Lagos state on the 20th of April 1947. He was popularly known as BJ, Quincy (to his fellow jazz enthusiasts) and Apesinola and was also a popular Lagos politician. He was a well-loved member of the Yoruba Tennis Club, The Island Club, Waka Club, and many more prestigious Lagos Clubs. He was a self-proclaimed lawyer, architect, builder, farmer etc.

Chief Anthony Abiola Johnson passed away on the 20th of November 2015 and was buried on the 4th of December 2015 at Ebony Vaults Ikoyi.
He will be remembered as a principled man of honour and integrity.
